Treatment planning

The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months. First, you will meet your dentist for your implant consultation. X-rays and impressions (molds) are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. Our team will design a treatment plan to ensure the best possible results for your unique condition. Next, we will schedule your implant surgery.

Implant surgery

While the area is numb, the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate itself for up to six months. Depending on the type of implant, a second surgery may be required in order to place the “post” that will hold the artificial tooth in place. With other implants, the post and anchor are already attached and placed at the same time.

Implant restoration

After several weeks of healing, the artificial teeth are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor. Because several fittings may be required, this step may take one to two months to complete. After a healing period, the artificial teeth are securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort so you can enjoy your restored smile!

Implants

Missing teeth can destroy your confidence, making it embarrassing to eat, smile, laugh and talk. Missing teeth can also make it difficult to chew certain foods, leading to poor eating habits and health problems. Failure to replace missing teeth can cause other dental health problems as well as compromise the condition of your remaining teeth. Dental implants offer an effective and relatively simple solution to the negative effects of tooth loss.

Your artificial tooth (called a crown) will only last 10-15 years before it needs to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. The implant itself fuses to your jawbone and can provide a stable foundation for your replacement tooth for the rest of your life with good oral hygiene and at-home care.

You will require a minor surgical procedure to place the implants in your jaw. Following your procedure, it's normal to experience some pain and swelling while your mouth heals. Our team will provide you with detailed post-operative instructions and prescribed pain relievers (as needed) to help you manage any discomfort you may experience.

Yes, we do. For the comfort of our patients, we offer laughing gas as well as local anesthesia.

Many dental plans may cover a portion of your procedure. We will verify all benefits prior to treatment and help you make the most of your insurance coverage.

The full cost of your implant procedure will depend on your overall treatment needs, such as the extent of restoration required to complete your smile. Our team will provide you with a complete breakdown of all costs and payment options during your consultation.

Dental implants are made from titanium. We use this metal because it's biocompatible, which means it fuses with the surrounding jawbone tissue. This can prevent or reverse the bone loss that happens when you lose one or more teeth.
